Anyone ever heard of the automaker Adler? I was messing around Wikipedia not doing history homework and clicked on "Luxury Car Marques" or something like that, Adler was at the top of the list... Apparently it was around between 1900-1957 and was German...

But look at that! It's pretty reminiscent of every other streamlined art-deco from the period other that the fact that it's soooo cute in comparison! ( Kinja'd!!!

A two-tone cabrio version in some weird colors...

...And the really awkward gearstick sticking straight out of the dash (about three o'clock behind steering wheel...)

The '37 is quite similar to the Chrysler/DeSoto/Dodge Airflow line that debuted in '34.

Also making conversation/I'm sure you knew this already, Adler means Eagle.

Yeah, I was thinking of the DeSoto Airflow, and thanks for clarifying the Adler/Eagle argument...I was pretty confused on Wikipedia when it said it was an Eagle sedan, an Eagle motorcycle, an Eagle everything...(Just to clarify, I'm not German... ;)

Sometimes wacky things happen with brute-translated/transliteration sourced Wikipedia articles. Sounds like this was one of them. I'm not German either, but I did minor in German in college.

Right, I was using a Google Translated page...

Ah, okay. A lot of obscure subjects have pages that are machine translated from a mother article, and that's what I thought you'd hit. I didn't check the Wikipedia article to see what info you'd gotten from it vs. other sources. One thing that could make it even more confusing is that since German nouns are always capitalized, Adler would get translated as lowercase "eagle" most of the time, because Google ist dumm.

As a side note, I have tires very much like these on my antique Land Rover. Probably nylon bias ply - not too expensive.
